President's Cup: Liberian Referees Will Not Handle Hearts And Kotoko Clash
Alex Ackumey, Vice Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has denied that, Liberian match officials will not handle the game between Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak in this year's President's Cup slated for the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, September 8, 2019.
Earlier report suggested that, an experienced Liberian referee, Hassen Corneh will be in charge when the two most glamorous clubs in the country lock horns on Sunday.
But Ackumey in an interview with Bryt FM rubbished such report and has revealed they will name the officials either on Wednesday or Thursday.
According to him, the Liberian referees are billed to officiate Kotoko and Etoile Du Sahel game in the CAF Champions League but not the President's Cup.
"It is not true that Liberian referees will handle the game. Ghanaian officials will be in charge on Sunday. We will name the officials by the close of Wednesday" he said.
