former Deputy Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in
Denver/Colorado, USA, Solomon Owusu, has expressed shocked at the Akufo-Addo
led government over willingness to fight corruption.
Mr. Owusu is wondering who reinstated the embattled Secretary to the Inter Ministerial Committee on Illegal mining, Mr. Charles Bissue to issue out ID cards.
In a statement issued on Monday, September 9, 2019, the US based mining engineer, alleged Mr. Bissue is still endorsing ID cards for miners with the latest dated on July, 2019 despite resigning from office on March 1, 2019 after Anas' expose.
Describing him as a 'Galamsey King", Mr. Solomon Owusu is of the view Ghana is in trouble and that Ghanaians should weep because President Akufo-Addo has proved to the world that he is not ready to fight corruption.
"How can you establish a Special Prosecutor office and bypass the SP to take such a decision in the midst of investigations? Truly the President is not in control and the nation is heading towards a very critical direction. A direction that shows that there is no future for generations unborn" Mr. Owusu lamented.
Meanwhile, copy of ID card intercepted by the reporter indicate, an ID card signed by Mr Bissue to Community Mining Programme on July 27, 2019 seem to confirm the statement by the mining engineer.
Mr. Solomon Owusu's post below:
Evidence of Failed Corruption Fight under Prez Akufo-Addo
The “galamsey king”, Charles Bissue is back at post and endorsing ID cards for community mining. This is a development that has tarnished Ghana’s image in terms of corruption fight and enforcement of rule of law.
The person who stepped aside and currently under investigations for alleged corrupt practices at the Inter-Ministerial Committee of Illegal Mining (IMCIM) is still at post secretly and issuing ID cards? An official who has been cited for issuing licenses to illegal miners to operate illegally?
Charles stepped aside on March 1, 2019 but he has endorsed an ID card dated July 24, 2019. This is very serious!!!!
Who reinstated Charles Bissue and when? Ghana is in trouble now. All Ghanaians should weep because President Akufo-Addo has proved to the world that he is not ready to fight corruption but rather condone the practice.
How can you establish a Special Prosecutor office and bypass the SP to take such a decision in the midst of investigations? Truly, the President is not in control and the nation is heading towards a very critical direction. A direction that shows clearly there is no future for generations unborn.
Im speechless and sad......
