Assistant coach for the Black Meteors of Ghana, Michael Osei says their target is to qualify for the 2019 Africa U23 Cup of Nations despite a shaky start to the final round of qualifiers.
The Black Meteors were held to a 1-1 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday by the Algerians and faces a tough task in the second leg decider away in Algiers.
The aggregate winner after both legs join six other teams and host country Egypt for the tournament slated for November 8.
"The game is not over because we have one more game to play. So we shouldn't give up. We still have hope that we can do something in Algeria" he said.
According to him, they going in the return leg with the mentality of surprising the Algerians to book a place in the upcoming competition in Egypt.
The Black Meteors have not appeared on the world event since Athens 2004.
The Black Meteors will lock horns with Algeria in Algiers in the return encounter on Tuesday.
