GFA Elections: Dr. Toni Aubynn Redraws from Race, Set To Contest For Executive Council Seat
Chairman for Medeama Sporting Club, Dr Toni Aubynn has withdrawn from the Ghana
Football Association (GFA) presidential race and is set to vie for a position
on the Executive Council.
He will battle for one of the five slots from the Premier League on the 12-member Executive Council.
Dr Aubynn confirmed last week he was making widespread consultation to throw himself into the presidential race amid massive call for a new face to lead Ghana football.
However, the business mogul has decided to go for a place on the Executive Council after consulting widely on his 'realistic' chances of becoming the leader of Ghanaian football.
According to him, he feels he will better serve on the Council due to the dynamics of the local elective congress.
The decision has been widely hailed as a 'smart' one and will be a key addition to the Executive Council if he secures a seat.
He has previously worked as CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, Director of Corporate Affairs for Tullow Ghana Limited.
