Asante Kotoko, AshantiGold Suffers Heavy Defeat in Africa Inter Club Competition

Ghana's representatives in Africa Inter Club Competition, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and AshantiGold Sporting Club both suffered defeat as the hope of having two representative in Africa took a nosedive.

Ashgold SC could not stand the might’s of RS Berkane as the Moroccan side thumped the Obuasi based club 2-0 to progress 4-3 on aggregate.

Asante Kotoko’s disjointed outing against Etiole du Sahel saw them dropping out of the CAF Champions League.

The Kumasi based club went into the game with a healthy 2-0 lead from the first leg staged at the Baba Yara stadium, but failed to free themselves from lopsided officiating and rugged performances to extend their champions league group stages hoodoo into 14 years.

The three unanswered goals from 10 men Etiole Sportive Sahel ended the Porcupines quest to progress into the group stage for the first time since 2006.

Kotoko will now have to fight a place in the group stages of the CAF confederation at the play off stages.
