Over Thousand Law Students To Embark On Demo Today
Students of Ghana School of Law will today, October 7, 2019 stage a protest to render their displeasure over recent developments to the school.
In results released from the latest entrance examinations, 90% of students who sat the test failed to make a pass mark.
The results showed that out of the 1,820 candidates who took the exams, only 128 passed.
However, the affected persons marched to parliament to present their petition to have the General Legal Council address what they termed as a 'Systemic problem' at the school.
A member of Ghana School of Law, Nii Adequaye in an interview with Abena Pokuah of Dadi FM said, over thousands of students is set to embark on the demonstration today.
According to him, they are seeking redress as the failure rate of the school continues to increase annually which doesn't speak well for them.
He was of the view that issues are surrounding the system as he believes remarking of their papers proves issues are surrounding the marking of the main and that, demonstrating against it for the right thing to be done.
"We have petitioned parliament but it couldn't materialize. So we are demonstrating today to channel our grievances to the president and the entire Ghanaian populace" he said.
