Akwatia Amasey To Seek For Re-Election In NPP's Parliamentary Primaries
The New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Akwatia Constituency in the Eastern Region, Mrs Mercy Adu-Gyamfi has announced to seek for re-election in January 2020 Parliamentary primaries.
According to the former Women Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Akwatia constituency, despite her educational background, she is doing her best for the constituents and said she has touched most sectors in the constituency and was optimistic that another four-year term will enable her to change the face of Akwatia constituency positively.
In an interview with joydaddymultimedia reporter, Kofi Atakora, the Akwatia MP said for about three years now, through the good management of the Economy by Nana Akuffo-Addo led Administration, Akwatia Constituency has benefited from numerous projects which included Entrepreneurship training for about 1000 women and young ladies, provision of educational materials and equipment to support Teaching and learning, support for needy but brilliant students, Health and Educational Infrastructure and many others.
Mrs Adu-Gyamfi Bello, who defeated NDC's Lawyer Ahmed Baba Jamal in 2016 election with 21,433 votes to beat against 15,905 votes, said she is tested and trusted and urged delegates to re-Consider her to lead the party again.
Mercy Adu Gyamfi (born 1st May 1971) is a Ghanaian Parliamentarian, a member of the New Patriotic Party, the majority group in parliament and a member of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana and a member of Employment, Social Welfare and State Enterprises Committee.
She is married with six kids.
Mrs Mercy Adu-Gyamfi attended Presby Middle School in Akwatia in the year 1988 and obtained Middle School Leaving Certificate. (MSLC).
She is a businesswoman and a hairdresser by profession and became a member of Ghana’s parliament in December 2016 when she won the seat for Akwatia constituency in the Eastern Region, she was a managing director, of Amasey Pharmacy, in Kade, in the Eastern Region.
She is a member of some committees in Parliament, she serves on the Committee on Employment and social welfare house committee.
