26th Annual 'CODE' Launched In Koforidua
This year's 26th Annual Conference Of Directors Of Education (CODE) has been launched in the cultural centre of Koforidua.
The Eastern Regional Minister, Eric Kwakye Daffuor speaking on behalf of the president Nana Akuffo Addo under the theme: 'Resourcing Pre-Tertiary Education in Ghana: The Case of The District Directorates' said, the government will continue to prioritize education in the country.
He said the government is aware that the delivery of quality education entails resourcing the District Directorates to empower them in rendering their service to students.
"Government takes into due consideration the fact that the district directorates are part of the management of the education sector who perform a lot of activities geared towards ringing to frisson mandate of the Ghana Education Service (GES)".
He added that, the implementation of the standard based new curriculum, the needs of the district directorates will be; resources, textbooks, computers, teaching and learning materials, means of transport, vehicles, motorbikes and others.
Also, placing directors on their proper scale for them to enjoy their allowances due them as district heads.
Again, descends office and residential accommodation in the district, periodic capacity building, avoiding delay in promotion and placement on the appropriate scale are also factors that could motivate the directors.
He stated emphatically at the gesture that, the country cherishes the effort of directors who in spite of their multiple challenges effect their best so as to make manifest the mandate of GES.
