As part of measures for teachers to upgrade themselves with the requisite knowledge and skills in the teaching profession, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that pupils in primary school will not attend school today Wednesday, October 30.
This is to pave way for Teachers for the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of teachers.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) said particularly KG 1 to Primary 6 teachers, pupils, parents and guardians that Wednesday, 30 October 2019 is Continuous Professional Development day for the teachers to enable the teachers to have their full day of training and professional development.
In a statement signed by its Head, Public Relations, Cassandra Twum Ampofo said the CPD day will be held four times in a year in a bid to improve teaching and learning outcomes as well as enhance the image of the teaching profession.
"As part of GES effort to improve its workforce, Continuous Professional Development (CPD) has been formally adopted into the Academic Calendar to allow teachers to upgrade themselves with the requisite knowledge and skills in the teaching profession".
