The Divisional Chief of Piengua in the Manya Krobo Traditional Area of the Eastern region, Nene Tetteh Zogli III has passionately called on the people in the area on the need to allow peace and unity.
According to the chief, there is no substitute for unity to ensure holistic development of any area, hence entreated all and sundry of the area to make unity a priority since it plays an important role in development.
He made the observation at this year’s durbar of chiefs and people which was graced by various chiefs and traditional leaders from the traditional area last Saturday.
The Osiekuse community grounds depicted a scene to behold with artistic skills of craftsmen displayed in wood-carvings, stools, linguist staff, Kente cloths, baskets and jewellery among others.
The celebration was not without a master-piece of unique Krobo culture, arts and tradition to mark this year’s durbar amidst revered traditional personalities, beautifully adorned in their regalia as they danced to various tunes of refreshing traditional music interspersed with cultural dances and displays.
The Piengua Divisional Chief was full of praises for the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Lower Manya Krobo, Simon Kwaku Tetteh for the various developmental projects in the community.
He mentioned newly 6-unit classroom block for the Piengua-Yokuenor M/A Basic School and a CHPS compound to address the health needs of the people of the traditional area but was quick to urge the MCE to see the construction of Nene Tetteh Zogli road.
The Special Guest of Honour for the occasion and Chief of Suisi Okwenya and Adadlikworsi, Kodjonya, Nene Olepeme Sackinor Nanor I registered his readiness to support Nene Tetteh Zogli III and the people of the Piengua traditional area.
