VRA Trust Fund Releases Ghc46k for Construction of Washrooms for New Somanya Police Station

The Volta River Authority (VRA) Resettlement Trust Fund secretariat has released an amount of GHc46,350.00 for the construction of toilet and washroom facilities for New Somanya Police Station in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The facility which was handed over five months ago by youth in the area has been abandoned due to lack of a place of convenience for both officers and inmates.


Since the facility is situated in a VRA Resettlement community, the trust fund has taken responsibility to provide separate places of convenience for inmates and officers as well as Bathrooms, Mechanised borehole with Overhead Poly tank and supply of office furniture to operationalize the Police in due course.

The delegation from the Trust Fund was led by His Lordship Rtd. Emmanuel Nana Antwi Barimah, Board Chairman and Mr. Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng, Executive Director to officially hand over GHC. 46,350 to the construction company, King Risco Company Limited.


In attendance were TDC members from the New Somanya Resettlement Community, Yilo Krobo Municipal Works Engineer who represented the Hon. MCE and Inspector B. Gausen who also represented the Somanya District Police Commander.
