West Akyem Assembly Exceed 2019 Revenue Target within Nine Months

The West Akyem Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region has exceeded its revenue target for 2019 within nine months by 47.03%.

The Budgeted Revenue for the 2019 financial year was GH¢996,187.00 but as of September 2019, the actual revenue generated stood at GH¢2, 117,978.12

Speaking at Meet the Press Series in Asamankese, the Chief Executive for the Municipality, Honourable Seth Oduro Boadu stated that the Assembly is on cause to surpassing the 24% increase in IGF for the 2018 financial year.

He said this remarkable achievement was due to some creative and innovative ideas that have been put in place by management in collaboration with the Finance Department of the Assembly.

Mr. Oduro Boadu said the Community Center in town was a habitat for criminals due to the dilapidated nature of the structure but the Assembly in partnership with Mondelez International renovated the facility and it’s now opened to the public for usage at a fee.

The MCE said the Assembly Administration Block, which was in a very deplorable state has seen facelift and fixing CCTV cameras and Intercom Services to make it befitting enough for the Assembly.
