Bukom Banku to headline Monarch Promotions show in Accra December 21

Promoter Prince Stanley Williams of Monarch Events and Promotions has exclusively told BoxingAfrica.com

that their end of the year event “King of the Ring II” will be held in Accra, Ghana on December 21 at the famous Bukom Boxing Arena.

The “King of the Ring” is expected to offer highly competitive and entertaining bouts as well as performances from A-list artists.

“The second edition will be explosive as we want to make an impact with our first outing in Ghana,” said Williams (pictured with Braimah “Bukom Banku” Kamoko). “We are still putting the card together but be rest assured that most of our fighters, including new WBU international cruiserweight champion, Bukom Banku (Braimah Kamoko), WBU super Welterweight world champion, Sule Olagbade, WBU middleweight world champion, King Davidson, and others will be in Ghana.”

Regarding why the choice of Ghana this year, Williams, who attended the recent WBC 57th annual convention in Cancun, Mexico said, “I am always happy to take our events to new places and Ghana is a country with a great boxing history and a country that has produced many world champions and top boxers. And so we want to take our world class event over there in December.”

Williams’ outfit is based in London, England. However, he promotes boxing events in USA, Germany, Nigeria and recently held “The Homecoming” card in Bradford, England.

One of the boxers expected to fight on the card, the aformentioned Davidson of Nigeria—who fights out of Australia—told BoxingAfrica.com

that although he has fought several Ghanaians, he has never fought in the country of Ghana and longed to do so.

“This is great,” said Davidson. “It was even a Ghanaian that I beat to win my world title so it will be interesting to fight in Accra as I have always wanted to.

“I will as always bring fireworks and I really love to fight before my African brothers and so fight fans in Accra should watch out for me.”

The maiden “King of the Ring: was held in Lagos, Nigeria on December 22, 2018. The event featured several WBU world title bouts.
