Wassa Amenfi: NDC Chairman Shot Over an Installation of Chief

Wassa Amenfi Central Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Daniel has been shot in an on-going chief installation process at Ankwaso in the Wassa Amenfi Central of the Western Region near Sefwi Bekwai.

Superintendent Isaac Baah, Sefwi Bekwai District Police Commander, who confirmed the story to Lord FM reporter, Kwame Konto Boateng, said that there was an exchange of gunshots between the police and the civilian believed to be supporters of the former chief, Nana Kanka Ababio.

“One pump-action gun was retrieved from the opposition who were shooting at the police and the new chief,” he said.

“One Kofi Abebrese, 45, was hit by one bullet and he is currently on admission at Bibiani government hospital” he added.

“No death has been recorded in the process”

This came to light when the police command spoke to Kwame Kontor Boateng on Lord 101.7 FM.

In furtherance, Oseadeeye Kwabena Damptey II has called for peace after he was successfully sworn in as the new chief with the help of the security from Takoradi and Sefwi Bekwai.

Oseadeeye Kwabena Damptey II has further appealed to his opponent, Nana Kanka Ababio and his followers to cease fire and join forces with him to move the developmental agenda of Wassa Ankwaso forward.
