Captain of the Black Stars Dede Ayew has attributed Ghana's failure to clinch Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title down to ill luck on their side.
He downplayed assertions that the Black Stars has not leave up to expectations with regards to their participation in tournaments.
According to him, the team over the years have has been unlucky to win any silverware for the nation having been into finals twice in recent years.
"If we are going to say that Black Stars has not done well for all these years, it's not true. Ghana has done well in AFCON's and World Cups. We have done things that other teams have not done just that we are not lucky to win trophies for the country" he said.
The Black Stars have played two finals in the last six AFCON tournament but have failed to win any of them.
Ghana will commence its 2021 AFCON qualifier with South Africa on Thursday, November 14, 2019.
