Ofori-Atta has stated emphatically that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP)
government has indeed turned the economy around.
Presenting 2020 budget statement and economic policy of government in Parliament, he said the economy has seen a miraculous turnaround and moving now in the right direction in relation to the data available.
He said economic growth has doubled under president Akuffo Addo with a rebounding strongly from 3.4% in 2016 which the lowest GPD rating since 1994 averaging 7%.
He said the inflation rate has fallen from 15.4% in December 2016 to 7.6% new series in September 2019 as they registered the lowest rate in 27 years which makes 2019 the year of the slowest ever rise in the prices of goods and services in the history of the fourth republic.
