Minister of the country has stated categorically that the ruling government has
not imposed any new taxes as purported to be some Ghanaians.
He made these remarks when presenting the 2020 budget statement to parliament.
According to him, to address the challenges of revenue mobilization government will restructure the tax system and develop a comprehensive policy and new strategy in their bid to make the economy much better.
He said, Ghana Revenue Authority occupies a very critical position in the economy and is responsible for approximately 70% of domestic revenues after ten years of integration government is ready to carry out the next generation of reforms in revenue administration.
The Minister added that, a transformation program centred around the three main themes of people, technology and service will be structured of the new leadership of GRA to create a new GRA that will reflect the very best of efficiency, professionalism and productivity.
