Mr Ken Ofori Attah, the
Minister of Finance has said about 1.2 million children are benefiting from
the Free Senior High School (SHS) programme and the President Akufo-Addo will continue
to invest in Free SHS.
The minister said this when he presented the 2020 Budget statement and economic policy to the parliament today.
He said to support the increasing numbers of students under the programme; more teachers would be employed within the same period to support the policy.
He said all programmes introduced by the Government would be carried out successfully to deliver the needed change and improve the economy.
“48,000 teacher trainees have been paid GHC532m in allowances”
He said the president has been able to redeem almost all promises made to the good people of Ghana.
He called on the citizenry to give maximum support to the government to enable them to carry out their work effectively.
