The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Eric Kwakye Darfour, has hailed the Seventh-Day Adventist Church (SDA) for complementing government in its development efforts in the health sector and among others.
This came to light when the church commissioned a two-storey building to augment the Koforidua based SDA hospital.
“I’m very happy that the Seventh-Day Adventist Church (SDA) is development conscious and I appreciate that the church continues to give the best of services ever in the area of health in the Country”.
He said the government would do everything to support the church’s health structures to ensure that people in the country continue to get the best social service they deserved.
He said the NPP government is making a real progress in improving health services in the country.
“Having toured the new edifice, I have seen the good work that the church has offered to the good people of Ghanaians”
He further advised Ghanaians to help reduce the number of deaths from high burden infectious diseases such as HIV and AIDS and others.
The director for SDA hospital Dr Daniel Faakye said the church would continue supporting government efforts in providing good health and other services to the good people.
He said the leaders of the church purchased the two-storey building from Koforidua based private university “All Nations University with a whopping amount of GH₵1.8 million and renovated it with GH₵600,000.
The new facility will house male and female ward, a psychiatric unit, administration block, pharmacy among others.
The hospital bed capacity has moved from 45 to 68 with the potential to hit a maximum of 100 beds.
