E/R Photos: NRSA Warns Motorists of Possible Road Accidents on Koforidua – Akyem Tafo Highway

The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has cautioned heavy-duty vehicles as well as big passenger buses to use alternative routes rather than plying the Togbe Shetor portion of the Koforidua - Akyem Tafo road trough to Bunso junction connecting to Kumasi.

According to the NRSA, ongoing re-engineering of that portion of the road has become urgent and as a result, seen a diversion created to enable free flow of traffic.

However, due to the slippery and clayey nature of the diverted road, driving has become quite dangerous for heavy-duty vehicles and big passenger passes.

The Eastern Regional Manager of the NRSA, Mr. Abdulai Bawa Ghamsah, explained that the narrow nature of the diversion may compel such vehicles to veer into the ditch which is "dangerous for the lives of motorists."
