Catholic Church Catechist joins Assembly Election Race

The catechist in charge of Mepom Catholic Church in the Saint Mary's Parish of the Eastern Region, Mr. Paul Kwasi Amedume has filed nomination forms to contest as Assembly member in the Upper West Akyem District.

Mr. Kwasi Amedume, who has been a catechist for about 20 years, now said he joined the race over neglect of Ahenboronum-Mepom electoral area for some years now.

The Aspirant told Kofi Atakora, joydaddymultimedia.com reporter in an interview that it is time for electorate to vote for creative men who have lobbying skills to bring developmental projects to their electoral areas and urged eligible voters to consider him as the best candidate to restore hope in voters.

Outlining his vision for the electoral area, Mr. Kwasi Amedume said education, sanitation and human resource shall be his priorities if given the nod.

The aspirant, who is currently SMC chairman for Mepom Catholic Schools lauded the government for introducing the free Senior High School Policy and vowed to organize free extra classes for benefiaries in his electoral area as well as Institution of Award Scheme for Teachers and best students.    

He also pledged to address poor sanitation challenge in his area by organizing frequent communal labour and also vowed to support the Youth who are interested in Entrepreneurship.
